
As President of J3 Resources, Inc., Cathy’s strong background in commercial real estate, business development, marketing and communications, along with her performance driven objectives, have provided her with the expertise essential in making J3 the thriving company that it is today. Cathy started out as a Communications Major at the University of Houston before becoming a Licensed Realtor. She became a Certified Fungal Analyst in 2001 upon completion of the McCrone Research Institute’s Indoor Air Quality program.
Cathy believes strongly in supporting her community, serving as a dedicated volunteer in both private and public schools since 1993 and most recently as a Court Appointed Advocate for Child Advocates, Inc. She considers one of her most valuable accomplishments to be the raising of her three children, Jacob, Justin and Jennie who are the inspiration behind the company name, J3!

Lee has been managing asbestos laboratories for over 25 years in the Greater Houston area. He specializes in the analysis of asbestos by Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM). After earning his B.S. degree in Marine Biology from Texas A&M University, he began his career as Lab Supervisor for Reservoirs Environmental Services. Prior to opening J3 Resources, Inc., Lee was the SW Regional Manager for EMSL.
In addition to running the J3 Lab, Lee is also a published co-author of peer-reviewed investigations involving TEM analysis of asbestos in human lung tissue. Lee currently serves on the ASTM D22-Air Quality Technical Committee and has had the opportunity to present his vast knowledge and findings in asbestos related research at the ASTM Johnson Conference. Lee is also a Full Member of the American Industrial Hygiene Association.

Scott joined J3 Resources, Inc. in 2005, upon graduation from Texas A&M University where he earned his Doctorate in Microbiology. Scott has extensive experience conducting analyses in both the Industrial Hygiene (PCM, PLM, TEM) and the Environmental Microbiology Laboratories. His insight and expertise are essential to maintaining J3’s strong and reliable Quality Control system. Scott’s attention to these high standards of practice allows J3 to sustain both its AIHA and NVLAP accreditations.
While at Texas A&M, Scott published several articles in peer-reviewed journals dealing with chemo tactic signal transduction pathways in bacteria. He currently serves on the ASTM D22-Air Quality Technical Committee and is a Full Member of the American Industrial Hygiene Association. Scott can routinely be seen as a guest lecturer at Houston area training facilities, where he provides laboratory insight to be carried out by field personnel on both sampling methods and analysis.

Duane has been with J3 Resources, Inc. since its inception in October 2000. As Lab Director he oversees all Laboratory work flow. This includes: quality control of sample analysis and reports; training and scheduling of analysts; client interaction and inquiries; as well as maintenance of equipment and lab supplies procurement. In addition to maintaining an accurate and efficient Laboratory, Duane serves as one of J3’s senior analysts with over 25 years experience in asbestos testing.
Duane graduated from the University of Texas in 1986 with a degree in Geology. His vast knowledge and experience of all laboratory methods facilitates his ability to work within the various labs at J3 Resources, Inc. including the TEM, Micro Biological, Soils and Metals labs.

Julie graduated summa cum laude from the University of Houston in 1999 with a BA degree in Theatre and English. She serves as the liaison between the Laboratory and the Office for J3 Resources, Inc. Julie supervises all front office activities while interacting with customers and clients, in addition to the review and QC of all reports and invoices. She is currently assisting in the marketing and business development program. Julie brings to J3 an extensive background in both management and business development, with previous experience working in the Commercial Real Estate and Environmental Engineering industries. Julie believes strongly in the philosophy of “strong body, strong mind” and works as a Fitness Instructor in her spare time.
